Now that it's cold outside we are all probably indoors most of the time and the heat is running constantly, I don't know about you but the dry air wreaks havoc on my sinuses so I'm using my neti pot quite often. Instead of spending money on the refills you can very easily make your own neti pot solution with ingredients you have in your home already. Keep in mind, I am not a doctor so consult your health care provider if you have questions about the safety of this. I did find this link to the Mayo Clinic that you can read about using your own solution. Here's what you need:
8 oz Distilled water, you can boil it but make sure to let it cool down to a warm comfortable temperature.
1/4 Teaspoon salt, preferably kosher, sea salt or non iodized.
1/4 Teaspoon Baking soda, (this is up to you, try it with and without the baking soda to see if it makes a difference for you)
After the water has cooled to a warm comfortable temperature pour it into your neti pot, mix in the salt until it's completely dissolved and add your baking soda (if you want).
